There are two different calendars one can follow. There is Gamma Pure Strength Hybrid and Pure Gamma. My T25 Gamma review concentrates on Pure Gamma. Part of the reason was I was tired of the double day fridays. I was tired of dreading Fridays no matter how much of a beast I felt like after completing them and I knew that with the step up I just needed to survive Gamma before I got too cute with adding additional workouts and I was glad I did because that first time through Gamma was mind blowing.
Number of Workouts: 5
Number of Days a Week You Workout: 6
Workout Duration: 25 minutes plus 2-5 for a cool Down
What you Need: Dumbbells (I hate resistance bands), A pull-up bar (If you are at the fitness level)
T25 Gamma Review
Speed 3.0 is similar to the other in it’s name but more difficult as he introduces various forms of burpees into the mix. Honestly, I love the workout one my favorites of the entire T25 series. It’s challenging it’s tough and it’s a little insane. You notice your fitness level climbing in the Speed workouts and I think that is why i love them plus they are very upbeat and constantly chaning so its exciting and keeps you on your toes. Literally if your heals ever touch you are losing speed.
Grab the dumbbells don’t go crazy at first because you will be doing a lot of reps and you can always increase the weight later. Honestly you will probably need multiple size weights because you can go a lot heavier on curls than you can doing “supermans” with weights. I know I tried using the same weight and couldn’t get the bastards off the ground. This was the first workout I nailed and I think it took me three rounds to nail the thing. The shoulder shrugs always got me. The good news is it looks like all the cast want to cry during these too.
Very Similar to Rip’t up except maybe the moves are little slower and more controlled. My favorite of the series and I nailed it in the same week I nailed Ript up which was pretty exciting. Choose your dumbbell weights carefully.
I have yet to “nail” the pyramid it’s a cruel, cruel lady. I love the workout my arms feel like noodles every time and I feel incredibly jacked. The fact that I have yet to nail this workout is what keeps me coming back. I will nail this damn thing someday!
Shaun T is also really fun here, he makes me laugh he is just fun in this workout as he pushes you to do more. Basically you do an execice to a count of one, then twice, then three times all the way to ten then you count backwards. This is real fun when you are doing pushups beacuse mentally you think it’s just 9 pushups when really you have done like 50. Can you say exhausting.
This is the same stretch workout as in Alpha and Beta so i am just going to repeat it.
There is going to be some mental fightback on doing this DVD because you do it every Saturday and you are not going to want to. That’s not saying that this workout is tough in fact you will probably do it once and then tell yourself you can skip it. Please don’t, you need this workout. You need it because you are going to be sore and you very well may be hurting, you might also think I was good all week I can skip this because it’s not a big deal. You are wrong the weekend is about more than rest, whch you need please make sure you are getting enough, it’s also about recovering your muscles and I can promise you that if you do the stretch workout you will recover faster and feel better. It’s not just me spouting shit, stretching on your recovery days is scientifically proven to aid in muscle recovery. JUST DO IT!
Bonus Disk: Core Speed
I love all the Speed Workouts and this one is no exception. Same format as Speed 2.0 and Speed 3.0. Seems about the same as Speed 3.0 in difficulty just different moves. Be prepared to sweat your ass off as you push your feet to move faster than ever before. The more you do it the better you get but that doesn’t necessarily the mean the easier because the better you get the faster you move and the more you do so as your fitness increases it just means the more you do and the tougher it becomes.
I want to talk to my fat bastards out there for just a second. I am hoping that if you are reading this that means you have already completed Alpha and Beta and I want to tell you I am so proud of you. You are doing fucking great don’t stop. The accomplishment to get here cannot be understated and you deserve to give yourself some praise, congratulations. If you are like me you just completed Alpha and you nailed Beta and you are feeling pumped to start Gamma. I need to warn you though, you are about to be tested. Gamma is a severe almost cruel step up from Beta. It’s not really a step on the fitness stairs but like jumping to another floor. After the first week of Gamma I over did it and could barely move, I was discouraged, pissed off and i felt like a complete loser. I thought about going back to beta or even quitting entirely. The mentality the second week was just as bad I morose and a bit depressed and I felt mad at the time and took it out on those close to me. I didn’t realize I was doing this until my wife informed me what was going on. Let me tell you something though once I realized that I was able to raise above those feeling and stop taking it so seriously. I could only do what i could do. I am not Shaun T, or Scott or Andy or Tonya I am me and if it takes me three of four times to get something that is what it takes. There is no time limit on these DVDs. Just do your best and then repeat the cycle getting better each time. Hell you paid for them and they aren’t exactly cheap might as well use them until you get them down. If you need to talk to spouse, your friend, your coworkers hell reach out to me and I’ll listen just don’t let yourself stop you can do this.
The series made me go to a dark place but in then I must admit i feel in love with it.I love this series! This has been my favorite workout series that I have ever done. If that changes I will update this post, but I don’t expect it to. I have a lot of workouts I want to do, but also want to make sure i through this in from time to time just because I love it. That and I still need to nail “The Pyramid” I think it’s the only workout in T25 I haven’t nailed it’s my “unicorn” you might say. I had some serious gains my arms transformed and my mentality was strengthened. I highly recommend the Focus T25 series just so you can get to Gamma. It’s amazing and life changing thank you Shaun T.
