My name is Donald McArthur and I have been a fat bastard all my life and I am doing my best to change that fact. This is my journey and I hope that through sharing my experience I can help others and learn more about myself. You’ll notice I have a lot of Beachbody stuff on here. That’s because they ar the first thing that has made me actually want to get up and workout and if you knew before this that would be a pretty amazing statement. I started with Focus T25 in July 2014 and it changed my life, though it I became a huge fan of Shaun T because of his and how he approaches motivation and the mental game and strongly recommend his podcast Define Your Life if you are just getting started. It wasn’t until I started listing to his podcast that I learned of his genuineness and compassion and maybe that is what made me identify with him as a trainer.
My journey has not just been about working out and nutrition. Honestly that is the easy part the hard part is changing my mentality. It’s an ongoing thing. My entire life I have been bigger than everyone and I don’t mean fatter as a kid I was physical larger than my classmates and I often felt like a giant walking among my peers. Being a twin and the larger one Big has always been apart of any nickname I received. Unfortunately this may have led me to becoming extremely obese. I was always the guy that could eat enormous amounts of food and took those eating challenges as apart of who I was. I did not believe in leftovers or take home bags in a large way that is how I identified myself. Let me tell you something if that is how you feel about yourself, you don’t have to. You are more than what you can eat and you to are much more than being big or fat. You are awesome you just have to believe that and believe in yourself. Learning to trust and believe in yourself, this is the true, the real process.
Trust and Believe – Shaun T.
